Ok, so I have pondered over my blog site wondering *what to type* and now finally here i am! so for starters let me introduce myself.
y’all can refer to me as Pumi, derived from my full name Nompumelelo Ranaka-Malchartzeck, born in South Africa (Soweto) Johannesburg and for now living in Bahrain *The Land of the smiles*, for those of you not in the know, Bahrain is a small Island country in the Persian Gulf with a total area of 707 sq km (273 sq mi) Ruled by the Al Khalifa family. Saudi Arabia lies to the west and is connected to Bahrain via the King Fahd Causeway, Qatar is to the Southwest across the Gulf of Bahrain.
Official Language: Arabic though English is widely spoken and is the
principal language of commerce.
Religion: Muslim, both Shi’tes and Sunnis with Christian, Bahai, Hindu and Parsee Minorities
Time difference: GMT +3
The Bahrain international circuit is also located here, and is the place where the popular Bahrain F1 Grand Prix takes place yearly, this year it will be in March (will keep you posted). This County is also the home of many popular structures like the Bahrain World Trade Center and the Bahrain Financial Harbour, and is also the home of many skyscrapers eg: Murjan Tower.
I have also lived and worked in Abu Dhabi as a Flight Attendant (and NO I did not meet my husband on the plane), Cabin Manager and In-flight Service Trainer. And in Hong Kong I worked as a Translator in the High Court. I’ve met some really lovely and interesting people along the way whom I call friends 🙂 oh before I forget Kun Hei Fat Choi (happy Chinese New year) to my Chinese friends xxx
